Is granite king anymore? Not since quartz moved in! Say hello to the new reigning countertop material. Meanwhile the use of granite has been declining over the last four years.

Quartz has many benefits for homeowners including being low-maintenance, super-hard, stain resistant and having a natural stone-look in an amazing array of colors. Quartz is close to being indestructible. They are so durable that most manufacturers will offer a warranty, something unheard of with granite providers. It also resists staining, or corrosion from cooking oils, liquids and most household cleaning products. Unlike granite, it does not require periodic resealing of the surface either.

Another added benefit is the fact that you can keep them 99.9% bacteria free! Quartz is not a porous stone surface so they are much more sanitary. The only thing you need to be careful of is excessive heat. It can be damaged so we suggest using trivets or heating pads.
