Mary Gilbank-Peterson of the Janesville/Rock County Office and Renata Greeley of the Burlington Office were named to a list of America’s top real estate professionals by REAL Trends. They are now members of the “The Thousand Top Real Estate Professionals,” a prestigious national award ranking sponsored annually by REAL Trends and advertised in The Wall Street Journal. Gilbank-Peterson and Greeley are now ranked in the top one half of 1 percent of the more than 1.1 million Realtors® nationwide.
According to The Thousand, Gilbank-Peterson helped 202.97 families buy or sell their home, ranking her 68 in the nation. Greeley helped 134.7 families buy or sell their home, ranking her 235 in the nation.
“The best individual agents — including Gilbank-Peterson and Greeley’s award-winning efforts—were nothing short of phenomenal considering the challenges in today’s complex housing market,” said Steve Murray, founder of REAL Trends, a Denver-based consulting, publishing and communications company and The Trusted Source that compiles the yearly, third-party verified list.
“Becoming a member of such an elite group as The Thousand is an incredible accomplishment in any market, but what Gilbank-Peterson and Greeley did during these challenging times is impressive on so many levels,” said Marti Gallardo, vice president of classified advertising for The Wall Street Journal. “Their efforts topped 99.99 percent of the more than 1.1 million Realtors nationwide.”

year producing the ranking. The list ranks the most productive agents by state and metropolitan area based on closed transactions and closed volume.
“With today’s release of the 2016 America’s Best Real Estate Agents list, an elite group of real estate agents across the country are receiving well-deserved recognition. These sales associates are far above average and have built enormously successful small businesses in an extremely competitive field,” said Steve Murray, president of REAL Trends.
More than 12,000 real estate professionals from every state are featured. To be included in the ranking, agents must have closed at least 50 transactions, compared with the industry average of seven, or $20 million in closed sales volume. Teams must have closed 75 transaction sides or $30 million in closed sales volume in 2015 to be included. This ensures that only the best of the best are included on the prestigious list.
“Less than 1 percent of the agents and teams in America account for 5 percent of all sales,” said Murray. “It is amazing to think about how hard they have worked and how focused they are on their clients.
